Problem

Gustavus community members should keep their alternate email address up to date to allow for self-service password resets.

Environment

The article applies to all Gustavus account holders.

Resolution

1. Navigate to https://gustavus.edu/account/contact and log in with your Gustavus credentials 

2. In the Username & Password area, ensure the email address listed uner "Alternate e-mail" is up to date and accessible for you.  Update it to a current alternate email if necessary.  

3. Scroll down and click the "submit" button

Cause

If users need to reset their Gustavus User Account password, they can do so independently by having a password reset link sent to the alternate email address on file.  Users who do not have a current alternate email address on file will need to contact the Technology Helpline for assistance.
