Problem
I need to enroll in Google Authentication.
Environment
The article applies to Gustavus community members with an active Gustavus account.
Resolution

From your computer, open your Gustavus email account in Google Chrome

Select your Google profile by clicking the letter icon or profile picture in the upper right-hand corner of your web browser. Then select Sign out.

Select the Google profile icon, and sign-in again.

You will be redirected to a screen that asks you to enroll in two-factor authentication, click Enroll.

Verify the correct device will get the two-factor prompts, click Continue.

Print or download your backup codes, click Next.

If you chose not to backup your codes, it will ask for verification.

Confirm that you want to be enrolled in Google Authentication, click Turn On

You will be redirected to your Google security page that outlines your enrollment

You will get a confirmation email confirming your enrollment.

Log into your Gustavus account, you will be prompted to open your Gmail application on your device.

Open the Gmail application on your device and click Yes, it’s me.
Cause
Gustavus uses Google 2 Step Verification. In order for your Gustavus account to continue functioning, you must enroll in the service.
