Problem
I need to enroll in Google's two-step authentication.

Environment
The article applies to Gustavus community members with an active Gustavus account.

Resolution
If you are not already signed in to your Gustavus account on your phone:
	-
On your phone, open a Google app. We strongly encourage the Gmail app
-
Tap on the profile icon in the top right corner, and tap Add another account
-
Choose Google as the account, and sign in with your Gustavus credentials

	- From your computer, open your Gustavus email account, preferably in Google Chrome
- Select your Google profile by clicking the letter icon or profile picture in the upper right-hand corner of your web browser. Then select Sign out

	- Select the Google profile icon, and sign in again

	-
You will be redirected to a screen that asks you to enroll in two-factor authentication. Click Enroll

	-
Verify that the correct device will get the two-factor prompts, and click Continue

	-
Print or download your backup codes, click Next

	-
If you choose not to save your backup codes, it will ask for verification

	-
Confirm that you want to be enrolled in Google Authentication, and click Turn On

	-
You will be redirected to your Google security page that outlines your enrollment

	-
You will get a confirmation email confirming your enrollment

	-
Log in to your Gustavus account, and you will be prompted to open your Gmail application on your device

	-
Open the Gmail application on your device and click Yes, it’s me

Cause
Gustavus uses Google 2 Step Verification. For your Gustavus account to continue functioning, you must enroll in the service.
