Overview
The Samsung Interactive Classroom Display is a 4K touchscreen display designed for classroom instruction and presentations.
These interactive displays are located in:
- Anderson Hall 214
- Anderson Hall 215
- Campus Center Lundquist Conference Room
Procedures
Power On and Power Off
To Power On
- Press the Power button on the lower-right front panel of the display.
- The display will normally open to the Home Screen.
- If an HDMI cable is connected, the display will automatically switch to the HDMI input and display what is on your computer screen.
To Put the Display to Sleep
- Press the Power button once.
To Power Off
- Press and hold the Power button.
- When prompted, confirm that you want to power off the display.
Adjust Volume and Brightness
- Press the Volume (+/-) buttons on the lower-right front panel to adjust the volume.
OR
- Tap the arrow on either side of the screen.
- Tap the Four Circles icon.
- Adjust the volume or brightness using the on-screen controls.
Return to the Home Screen
- Tap the arrow on either side of the screen.
- Select the Home icon (the rounded square, second icon from the bottom).
Draw on the Display
You can annotate any image displayed on the screen using either your finger or one of the magnetic pens attached to the bottom center of the display.
- Tap the arrow on either side of the screen.
- Tap the Draw icon at the top of the menu.
- Choose the desired color and pen width in the menu that comes up.
- Draw directly on the display with your finger or pen/stylus.
Save Drawings
- Save your notes or annotations when finished.
- From the Home Screen, open the Files app to access saved drawings and images.
Connect a Computer Using HDMI
- Connect the room's HDMI cable to your computer either directly or with a USB-C to HDMI adapter attached to the cable.
- Wait for the display to automatically show your computer screen.
- If the image does not appear:
- Tap the arrow on either side of the screen.
- Select the Input icon (second icon from the top).
- Choose HDMI.
- If using the cable hanging on the left side of the display, select HDMI 2.
Configure Audio (if needed)
If audio is not playing through the display:
- Mac: Select WAF as the audio output device.
- Windows PC: Select SAM (4-HD Audio Driver for Display Audio) as the audio output device.
Share and Control Your Computer from the Display
This method allows you to project your computer and control it using the touchscreen.
Connect Your Computer
- Connect your laptop to the campus network using an Ethernet cable.
- If necessary, use a USB-C to Ethernet adapter. If you do not have a cable and adapter please contact GTS.
- Connect the Ethernet cable to any active network jack in the room.
Start Screen Share
- From the Home Screen, select Screen Share.
- Review the User Guide available in the lower-right corner if needed.
Install SEC Screen Share
- Install SEC Screen Share on your computer.
- Select Casting Tutorial at the bottom center of the display for installation links.
- If you are using a Gustavus-owned computer, contact the Helpline for assistance. Installation requires Make Me Admin privileges.
Connect to the Display
- Open SEC Screen Share on your computer.
- Enter the code displayed on the touchscreen.
- Select Screen Share.
- Choose the content you want to display.
- Select IFP for audio output in that screen.
- Agree to the connection request on the touchscreen.
You can now control your computer directly from the touchscreen display.
Configure Audio (if needed)
If audio is not working:
- On both Mac and Windows, select SEC Audio as the audio output device on your device.
- Make sure IFP is selected as the output device before beginning Screen Share.
Note: Screen annotation is not available while using SEC Screen Share.
