How do I add my Gustavus email and calendar to my phone? (Android)

Problem


I would like to add my Gustavus email and calendar to my phone (Android).

 

Environment


The article applies to all Gustavus staff, faculty, and students.

 

Resolution


  1. Download the Gmail and Google Calendar apps from the App Store or open Gmail and Google Calendar on your Android Device
  2. Click Sign In, and add a Google account using your Gustavus email address and password.
  3. If you are enrolled in 2 Step Verification, you will be required to use a seperate device or a backup code that you can obtain from the Technology Helpline.
  4. If you already have an account in the Gmail or Google Calendar app, click on your profile picture, and click Add another account.

 

Cause


Gustavus does not permit adding your Gustavus Google account to 3rd party apps such as mail or other email or calendar applications for security reasons.
