How To Check Your Notification Settings on an Android Phone

Problem

I am not getting the notifications for Google Authorization.

Environment

The article applies to enrolled Google Authentication users using an Android phone.

Resolution*

  1. Open the "Settings" app on your Android phone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on "Apps & notifications."
  3. Tap on "Notifications."
  4. Here, you will see a list of all the apps that have notification permissions. Tap on the app you want to check the notification settings for.
  5. You will see various notification settings for that app, such as "Show notifications," "Sound," "Vibrate," "Lock screen," etc. Adjust these settings as per your preference.

*There are many variants of the Android operating system.  Your system settings may appear slightly different then what is listed here.

Cause

It is helpful to have notifications enabled, so you get a pop-up when Google wants to authenticate your account.
