How to Check your GMail Notification Settings on the Apple iPhone

Problem

I am not getting the notifications for Google 2 Step Verification

Environment

The article applies to enrolled Google 2 Step Verification users.

Resolution

  1. Open the "Settings" app on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap on "Notifications."
  3. Here, you'll see a list of all the apps on your phone that have notifications enabled.
  4. Tap on the app whose notification settings you want to check (ex: Gmail).
  5. Use the slider button to turn notifications on.
  6. You'll now be able to see and modify its notification settings, including the type of notification, whether it appears on the lock screen, whether it plays a sound, etc.
  7. In the Gmail app, under settings under your labels, in the left hand menu, you can set notifications for either all mail, high priority mail only, primary only, or none.

Cause

It is helpful to have notifications enabled, so you get a pop-up when Google wants to authenticate your account or receive mail notifications for your Gustavus account.
