How Do I Convert an Image File Format? (macOS)

Problem

I want to convert an image file type.

 

Environment

The article applies to Apple computer users running macOS 10 or newer.

 

Resolution

  1. Open the image you want to convert in Preview. To do this, just double-click the image file in Finder or right-click on the file and choose "Open With" and select Preview.

  2. In Preview, click on the "File" menu at the top of the screen and choose "Export".

  3. In the Export dialog box, you can choose the format you want to convert your image to. There are many options available, such as JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, GIF, and more.

  4. Once you have selected the format you want, you can also adjust other settings, such as the image quality and resolution.

  5. After you have made your selections, click on the "Save" button to convert and save the image in the new format.
