How to view, disable, and remove browser extensions - Safari

Problem

Browser extensions and plugins can make our online work easier; but they can also introduce serious security risks. Even trusted plugins can be compromised or quietly collect personal data, creating vulnerabilities that affect not only your device but the broader Gustavus network.

Environment

The article applies to anyone utilizing the Safari web browser on a computer.

Resolution

  1. Open Safari.

  2. From the menu bar, select Safari > Settings (or Preferences).

  3. Click the Extensions tab.

  4. Review all installed extensions.

  5. Uncheck the box next to any to disable temporarily, or click the extension and choose Uninstall to remove.
