What are the Requirements for Receiving Google 2 Step Verification Prompts?

Overview

While enrolled in Google 2 Step Verification, you can use two-factor with backup codes or prompts from a secondary device, such as a phone or tablet. However, not all iPhones and/or iOS devices are compatible.

 

Details

To receive Google prompts, you must have an iPhone 5s or above or an Android device. You can use either the Gmail app, YouTube app, Google App, Photos app, AdWords app, or the Smart Lock app.
