How to Receive a Secure File (Non-Gustavus)

Problem

I need to receive a secure file from outside the Gustavus organization.

 

Environment

The article applies to Gustavus users wanting to receive a secure file.

 

Resolution

  1. Point your web browser to secureshare.gac.edu
  2. Click the gear in the upper right-hand corner, and select Account Settings
  3. On the Personal Filedrop tab, copy the URL to your clipboard
  4. Paste the URL into an email message for the user who needs to send you the file
  5. Send the email

 

Cause

Filedrop allows you to securely receive files from anyone without requiring them to log in to Secure Share. This should only be used when the sender is external to Gustavus. You will be notified by email when someone drops files into your Filedrop.
