How do I download a course from Moodle?

Problem

The Moodle Archive (courses from 2022-2024) is going away, how do I download the course from Moodle?

 

Environment

The article applies to Gustavus Moodle users.

 

Resolution

  1. Visit https://moodle-archive.gac.edu
  2. Open course you would like to back up
  3. Click on the Gear
  4. Click Backup
  5. Keep defaults checked.
  6. Click Jump to Final Step.
  7. Click Continue.
  8. Under User private backup area, click download next to each course you would like to download.
  9. Upload file to Google Drive for future use. This will be a MBZ file.

 

Cause

Due to the age of the archive, these courses (Fall 2022-Summer 2024) will go away to make room for 24-25 courses.
