How to Add a Printer to an Employee Computer (macOS)

Problem


I would like to install an HP printer on my employee macOS computer.

 

Environment


The article applies to Gustavus-owned macOS computers (running version 10.14.6 and higher) that are used by Gustavus employees.

 

Resolution


  1. Launch Software Center (located in the Applications folder)
  2. In the search box in Software Center, enter the name of the printer you’d like to install (printer name will be on a label on the printer)
  3. Click Install for each printer you need installed. If you see the word reinstall, the printer has been installed successfully
  4. Test the printer

 

Cause


Employees can install a predetermined list of printers across campus.
