Windows 11 has a built in anti-virus product that will suffice.  If you need affordable or free malware remediation software, Gustavus Technology Services recommends Malwarebytes (www.malwarebytes.com) to students. Malwarebytes is a malware removal tool that can aid a virus protection software in the removal of malicious software and/or viruses from your computer.

What can I do to protect my computer from malware?

• The best way to avoid getting malware and ransomware is by not installing "high-risk" applications that provides usually pay-for content or applications for "free"
• Use caution when installing software
• Be wary of the links you click, and ensure emails with links to click on are from trusted senders
• Make sure your operating system, software, and browser plug-ins are all up to date
• Use a long and unique password for each individual site
