Problem
My Windows laptop's battery doesn't seem to hold a charge. How do I check the battery health?
Environment
The article applies to Gustavus laptop users running Windows.
Resolution

Right-click the Start menu and select Terminal

Type powercfg /batteryreport at the command prompt to create a report

In File Explorer, navigate to C:\Users\username, with the username being your Gustavus username

Cause
Powering off randomly and short battery life are signs of a bad battery.
